Aadya Kaktikar is an Odissi dancer trained in the Mayadhar Raut Paddhati of Odissi.
An ICCR empanelled artist, she has performed in major festivals and venues for the last two decades.
As the programme manager for the Mayadhar Raut School of Odissi dance, she has organised all the festivals held by the school for the last five years. Aadya has also taught Odissi dance at various schools and workshops across the country.
Her research interests include post colonial history of dance and practice based research on dance and dance education.
Aadya is the author of "Odissi Yaatra- journey of Guru Mayadhar Raut". The book documents the revival years of Odissi dance and features a unique collection of rare photographs. The book has been highly praise for its in-depth documentation of previously unrecorded events.
Aadya is an Odissi dancer and a dance educator. For the last two decades, she has performed extensively to critical acclaim and is an ICCR empanelled dance artist. She is currently interested in the pedagogy of teaching dance and her work centres around exploring traditional methodologies of dance training in the contemporary education space. Aadya's special areas of interest are curriculum planning and assessment development for the performing arts.
